The toughest times test the faith of even the strongest. Actor Chris Pratt has long been vocal about his faith and has even posted on social media about his relationship with God and prayer. He has also received quite some backlash for promoting his faith, with many fans criticizing him for using his platform to propagate it.
However, there is a reason Pratt has increasingly been vocal about his faith and it is a very personal reason. The actor recently revealed in an interview with Fox News that he made a deal with God to be more religious and give his thanks to Him during the birth of his eldest son Jack, who reportedly had a healthy scare during his childhood.

One look at Chris Pratt’s social media handles and you will see eclectic posts ranging from movie promotions, paid partnerships, and a glimpse into his family life. Pratt is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, and shares three children with her. Many of his posts are related to his family with her.
However, Pratt also frequently talks about his faith and even recently partnered with Mark Wahlberg to promote a prayer app. He is vocal about his beliefs and his relationship with God, which, while bringing him closer to a section of his audience, has also alienated another section, who have criticized him for his constant posts about it.
However, Pratt admitted recently during an interview with Fox News that his family and he were not huge church-goers but it all changed with the birth of his son, Jack. He said,
He was born early and had some health scares. And in that moment, [I] really made some deals with God, as you do when you’re praying. And I felt like, ‘If you save my son, I will give you everything. I’ll give you my life. I’ll give you my platform. I won’t be ashamed to talk to you, talk about you.’
The actor spoke about his eldest son Jack, who he co-parents with ex-wife Anna Faris. Jack was reportedly born nine weeks premature and had several health scares. He is currently twelve years old and is reportedly much healthier.

Despite not being together anymore, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris share parenting duties of Jack regularly, with the Jurassic World star often seen with his son at outings. The actor posted about going to Deadpool & Wolverine with him (photoshopping his face with that of Hugh Jackman’s as a joke) and he even wrote a heartfelt message on his birthday.
Pratt revealed back then that the health scare of his son restored his faith in God and that his family prayed a lot during the month his son spent in the ICU. He said to People Magazine,
It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it. The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him, and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect.
Pratt credited his son with being a fighter and mentioned that he was extremely charming and healthy now.
