The way Panzy’s story arc was handled in Dragon Ball DAIMA is a perfect example of how you can ruin a potential storyline. The creators took their time to develop a really emotional and heartbreaking backstory for her character, which could add some real depth to the story. However, they just didn’t!

They failed to follow through on that potential, and Panzy’s backstory ultimately didn’t have any significant impact on the plot, after all. This certainly feels like a wasted opportunity, and fans are left wondering why the creators even bothered introducing that emotional element in the first place. So, where did the narrative go wrong anyway, especially when there were so many interesting directions they could have taken?
Panzy’s addition in DAIMA wasn’t initially half-bad!

Panzy was definitely one of the coolest new additions to the franchise in Dragon Ball DAIMA! Not only she is a Majin Princess but she also has an awesome design, a fun personality, and most importantly, a great dynamic with Goku. Plus, she’s super useful in all sorts of situations, even if she’s not a fighter herself. It’s a shame, though, that the series doesn’t do her storyline justice.
If you dive deeper into Panzy‘s story arc, you’ll see how heartbreakingly inspiring it is. She is a total rebel at heart, and always refuses to back down even when things get tough. Despite being royalty, she’s not even afraid to stand up against corruption and fight for what’s right, especially when it comes to her people. In fact, her whole backstory with her father was brimming with potential from the very first time she was introduced, but what did we get? Nothing.
DAIMA couldn’t keep up with Panzy’s goals, or maybe they just forgot!

When Panzy first joined the crew, her goals were clear: take down Gomah, free the Third Demon World, and put her dad, King Kadan, on the throne as the new Supreme Demon King. While it did sound like a solid plan, things just couldn’t go any worse. When King Kadan finally showed up in the First Demon World to help Goku in the final battle, it seemed like he totally forgot about Panzy’s original mission!
After winning the battle, you’d think he’d be all about claiming the throne for himself, but unfortunately, that did NOT happen! He, in fact, seemed shocked that he was even considered for a minister role! What happened to his ambitions? And what about Panzy’s goals? It feels like the story just totally dropped the ball on this one.
In fact, even Panzy’s character as a whole got sidelined in the end, like she wasn’t even the Panzy we came to know so far. Instead of getting to fight and make a difference, we saw she was just standing there holding baby Dende! Couldn’t Bulma have done that job just as easily, and Panzy could’ve been out there kicking some butt? It feels such a waste of her potential.
