Tori Spelling has revealed that former Blossom and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star David Lascher once had a nerve-wracking conversation with her dad, legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling, about taking her on a date.
“My dad gave you the ‘OK.’ I’m still mad at that,” Tori, 51, admitted to her guest on the “misSPELLING” podcast on Wednesday, March 5.
During the latest episode of the iHeart podcast, Tori was joined by the Beverly Hills, 90210 guest star — Lascher played Kyle Conners for three episodes and Tori starred as Donna Martin on all 10 seasons — to get to the bottom of his romantic past. Tori reminded Lascher that the ladies on the 90210 set “all flirted with [him] but [he] wouldn’t go out with any” of them.
“I couldn’t find anything scandalous on you,” Tori admitted. “You were like the iconic boy of the ’90s but who did you date?”

Lascher, 52, shared that his Hey Dude costar Christine Taylor was his “first girlfriend,” but Tori soon pivoted to remind her guest that he’d once asked her dad permission to take her on a date. Nothing ever came of Lascher’s romantic interest because Tori wasn’t single at the time.
“You had a boyfriend at the time, I’m pretty sure, and so did [90210 cast mate] Jennie [Garth],” Lascher insisted.

Lascher appeared reluctant to “kiss and tell” about past romances, but he did confirm he dated Rescue Me actress Andrea Roth after splitting from Taylor.
“After Christine, [Andrea] was the girl I just really fell for,” he recalled. “She’s one I was on-and-off with for a while. I just really, really liked her.”
Lascher has been married to Jill London since 1999 and the couple have three children together. Tori filed for divorce from husband Dean McDermott in March 2024 after 18 years of marriage.
Days after her court filing, Tori’s podcast listeners heard her call McDermott live on air to reveal her lawyers had initiated divorce proceedings. Tori has been incredibly candid about her post-divorce romantic life and past hook-ups on her podcast over the years.
In February, she revealed to fans that she’d had her “one and only threesome” with “a male and a female” after filming the Beverly Hills, 90210, season 6 finale on the famous Queen Mary cruise ship.
“I don’t think girls nowadays do this because … they’re not there to, like, make guys be like, ‘Oh, my gosh,’” she divulged. “But back in the ’90s, it was kind of a thing and you would do this thing where you would be like, ‘Let’s shock the boys and make them drool.’ And you would, like, make out with your friend. Whether you had interests in females or no interest at all, kind of it was like, ‘It’s just two girls kissing.’”

Tori also revealed on “misSPELLING” in February that she once made out with Colin Farrell before he became a “mega famous” Hollywood superstar. She told podcast listeners that she’d run into Farrell in the “old” lobby of CAA before her first marriage and later hooked up.
“I did my first ever double take with this boy. He was so beautiful,” she remembered. “He seemed fairly nervous. I could tell he was new. He wasn’t some huge actor.”
