Rebecca Gayheart has had a change of heart in regards to her divorce from Eric Dane.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Gayheart, 53, requested a dismissal on Wednesday, March 5, of the divorce petition she initially filed.
In February 2018, the actress filed for divorce from Dane, 52, after 14 years of marriage. At the time, Gayheart cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of divorce.
She also asked for spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of their two daughters: Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.

In the seven years since separating, however, Gayheart and Dane never reached a divorce settlement. Instead, they showed signs of being friendly exes as they worked on coparenting their daughters.
“We’re doing our best. It isn’t easy,” Gayheart told Us Weekly in October 2018. “But we are trying and we are committed.”
More recently, the couple showed no signs of drama when they enjoyed a family vacation throughout Europe.

Later in the summer, the family unit enjoyed a fun day closer to home at the Malibu Chili Cook-Off. They also kicked off 2023 with a family vacation to Mexico.
“They are making it easy on me so far,” Gayheart shared with E! News in July 2024 when asked about raising teenagers. “But I should knock on some wood. Do we have any wood anywhere?”
While the actress said she took a break from acting to focus on being the best mom possible for her daughters, Gayheart said she was ready to get back to her Hollywood gigs.
“I took a decade off from working to be home with my kids,” she explained. “They’re like, ‘But what do you do, mom?’ And I’m like, ‘OK, I need to show them what I do.’ I need to work so that they get that they need to work and that women have to get out there and carve out a career and, like, go after it.”

Ultimately, one constant in Gayheart’s life has been Dane. Ever since the pair tied the knot in 2004, both Gayheart and the Grey’s Anatomy alum have been in each other’s lives.
“It’s probably one of the least interesting stories in the world,” Dane told Flaunt magazine in 2008 about how he met his wife. “It went basically like this: ‘You wanna go out?’ ‘Yeah, sure.’ Ten months later, we were married.”
