Justin Baldoni’s dad, Sam Baldoni, is weighing in on his son’s ongoing legal battle against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
A high school librarian has gone viral on TikTok for making a bulletin board reading, “In a world of Blake and Ryans, be a Justin.” Multiple outlets reported that Justin’s father, Sam, was quick to repost the video on his own Instagram Story March 2025.
This was hardly the first time that someone in Justin’s immediate family made a reference to the It Ends With Us director’s legal battle. Justin’s mom, Sharon Baldoni, called out “justice” in her January 2025 birthday tribute to the actor.
Justin sued The New York Times after they published Lively’s complaint in December 2024, accusing him and his Wayfarer Studios of sexual harassment on the film’s set. (The newspaper has since filed to dismiss the suit and Baldoni has denied Lively’s claims.) Justin has also sued Lively and Reynolds, along with her publicist, Leslie Sloane. (Sloane has filed to be removed from the suit.)

The pair are set to face off in court starting in March 2026, but a New York judge has threatened to move up the trial if it continues to play out in the public eye. Neither Lively nor Justin have spoken out publicly about the legal drama, making statements strictly through their legal team.
Fans of Justin are familiar with his father Sam, who appeared on an August 2021 episode of the Jane the Virgin alum’s “Man Enough” podcast.

“Despite the mistakes, despite the stuff that your dad taught you, that you then taught me, despite all of that stuff, you’re an amazing dad,” Justin said during the episode. “I’m so grateful for you.”

A Father of 2
Sam and his wife, Sharon, are parents to Justin and Sara Baldoni.
A Hollywood History
Just like Justin, his dad has a Hollywood career. Sam is a film producer and entertainment industry marketing pioneer.
“Growing up, my dad read Variety every week. He would sit and have a cup of coffee and read it like the newspaper,” Justin captioned a July 2024 Instagram post when he was featured in the magazine. “It honestly feels surreal to see myself on these pages. As a father myself … I can only imagine how cool this must be for my dad!”

How He’s Involved
Sam is not named in any of the court documents, but he is included in a photo in Justin’s suit against Lively.
Justin alleged that he and his camp were initially uninvited to the It Ends With Us premiere, but were allowed to attend at the last minute. However, the actor’s team was allegedly “confined to a makeshift holding area surrounded by concession stand stock, with only fold-out tables and chairs arranged in a square.” The lawsuit featured a photo of Justin along with friends and family in what appeared go be the basement of the theater. Sam could be seen sitting at the front of the photo.

Sticking Up for Justin
Aside from sharing the TikTok video in March 2025, Sam used the hashtag “#justiceforjustin” in a birthday post for his son, shared via Instagram in January 2025.
