She continued on and spoke fondly of her family dog[/caption]
Laura said: “We sadly just lost our first dog on Saturday, Rupert.
“You’re getting me already, I knew this would happen…”
She continued: “He was the first and only Trott family dog. He was almost 17 years old, bless him.
“They’re just such a huge part of your life. I loved that dogs to bits.
“My dad didn’t want a dog but I actually got him for Father’s Day. Obviously, deep down it was for me.
“He was the most loving, yappy, little, wonderful, caring dog.”
Rupert – nicknamed Roo – died on Saturday aged 16 years and ten months old.
Laura wrote on Instagram: “I feel like he has been there through every big life event of mine.
“Every bike race, marrying Jason, our two boys, the list goes on. Never did I think at 16 years old when we got him that he would meet any children of mine.
“You were the most wonderfully handsome, yappy, loyal, train chasing, hand biting, escape artist.
“Our one and only ‘Trott’ family dog. You were literally everything and more we could have hoped for in a dog.”
The gold medallist announced on New Year’s Eve that she’s pregnant with her third child after multiple baby tragedies.
Laura, 32, is married to fellow rider Jason Kenny and share children Monty and Albie.
