Two top-prize winning instant tickets still unclaimed in $5 game
A Baltimore County woman is a huge fan of the Joker’s Wild instant ticket, having won $50 multiple times on the scratch-off. She had a good feeling that the game would someday lead to a big prize, but was still shocked when she took home its top score of $50,000.
“I love Joker’s Wild. I have been pretty lucky with that game,” she told Lottery officials, smiling. “I said, ‘One day I am going to win that $50,000.”
She did so by matching 10 of her numbers, which each had a $5,000 prize. The Essex resident couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked at her instant ticket. It appeared she was a top-prize winner but she wanted to double-check that fact. She went to the Food Lion store clerk and got great news. There was a lot of excitement in the grocery store over her lucky win and she even received a congratulatory cheer from the employees.
“They were all clapping for me,” she recalled.
The big winner plans to pay off bills with some of her prize and will use the rest of the funds to help family members. She bought the winning instant ticket at the Middle River Food Lion, located at 1413 Fuselage Avenue. The Baltimore County grocery receives a $500 Lottery bonus for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off.
The fun on the $5 Joker’s Wild game began on July 22, 2024 and this is the sixth top-prize winner. Two top prizes of $50,000 remain unclaimed along with prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
