An award-winning firm with multiple restaurants in Edinburgh has closed suddenly after its parent company plunged into liquidation.
Ghost Gastro Ltd, the business behind Butta Burger and Homies Pizza, was issued a court order on February 14 to wind up its operations.

Butta Burger was opened at end of 2020, during the first lockdown.
A ghost kitchen is a restaurant which offers food for pick-up or delivery but doesn’t have a storefront or dining room.
Set up during the pandemic by former nightclub promoters Simon Bays and Graham Atkinson, images of their burgers and sides went viral as punters ordered food for online and collection.
The company operated two Butta Burger restaurants in the capital, located on George Street and Lister Square.
A third venue, Homies Pizza, which also ran a unit at Edinburgh Street Food in the Omni Centre, has also ceased trading.
According to The London Gazette, a petition was presented to Edinburgh Sheriff Court on January 15, requesting Ghost Gastro Ltd be wound up and a liquidator appointed.
A similar petition was filed for Homies Pizza on the same day.
A notice was placed on the door of one of the Butta Burger locations in February, informing customers that the branch had closed and a liquidator had been appointed.
The sign on the George Street spot read that Ghost Gastro Limited was interim liquidation and Callum Angus Carmichael of FRP Advisory has been appointed by interim liquidator.
Those who have a claim in liquidation were told to contact FRP Advisory.
Although Butta Burger and Homies Pizza still have active websites and social media accounts, neither has been updated since January 31.
Customers are currently unable to place orders via either platform and they have been removed from delivery apps.
Butta Burger, which has received awards for its burgers, last posted on Instagram five weeks ago, and the account remains active.
The sole director of Ghost Gastro Ltd is listed on Companies House as Graham Atkinson, who is also named as a director of Homies Pizza.
Homies Pizza originally opened at Waverley Mall in January 2023 specialising in Detroit style pizzas.
