Monica and Joey might have had fans swept up in their love story but after a shocking Love Is Blind season 8 finale twist, they left us second-guessing everything we thought we knew about them.
27-year-old digital marketer Monica Danús and 34-year-old physician associate Joey Leveille quickly became this season’s “golden couple” when the latest season of Love Is Blind premiered on Feb. 14.
In the pods, Joey’s upbeat, easy-going demeanor quickly earned him the title of “Golden Retriever boyfriend” and the pair soon bonded over their loyalty to their families. Joey revealed that he turned down several football offers from Division 1 schools to go to a college near home so he could support his two younger sisters after his third sister died and his parents divorced. Likewise, Monica opened up about leaving her last job to help care for her elderly grandmother.

After getting engaged in the pods, Monica and Joey took their romance to Honduras where things went off without a hitch. Back home, though, the couple hit a snag when Monica’s sister Nicolle expresses her reservations after meeting her sister’s fiancée for the first time. “[Joey] knows what people want to hear, and he’s really good at delivering it,” she tells Monica.
Monica does her best to make them see eye-to-eye and when Nicolle offers to do an engagement photo shoot for the couple, tensions seem to disappear as they head towards the altar. However, on their wedding day things took a sad turn!
Are Monica & Joey Still Together After ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 8?
Monica and Joey did not get married in the finale episode of Love Is Blind season 8 but left things somewhat open-ended, giving us hope that they could have reconciled after the show… or so we thought.
Though Monica did tell Joey she loved him at the altar, she also said, “I just feel like we’re not quite there” and opted to call the wedding off. Joey agreed, saying, “I don’t think I would be ready. I need to be 100%. And to be completely 100% honest, I’m also not 100% at this time.”
Did Monica & Joey Get Back Together?
After ending things on good terms when filming wrapped in March 2024, it seems very possible that these two gave it a second chance.
Monica liked several of Joey’s posts between April 2024, shortly after filming for Love Is Blind ended, and November but has not liked any posts since which may be an effort to keep their relationship hidden as the show airs.
For his part, Joey was regularly liking Monica’s Instagram posts from April 2024 until October 2024.
Monica also may have implied she was single in a Feb. 2 Instagram post when she responded to a commenter who wrote, “Queen of Love is Blind.” Monica replied, “Just need my 👑 .” Guess we’ll have to wait for March 9’s reunion episode to find out!
