Dragons Den star who ‘rejected’ show deal aged 15 is now raking in cash working with a billionaire

A DRAGONS’ Den star whose dream deal collapsed behind the scenes is now having the last laugh after scoring big with a major business billionaire.

Fans of the hit BBC business show will remember Shaye Bhattessa-Sharma as being the youngest person ever to seemingly bag a deal on the programme.

Then aged just 15, Shaye took his father Raj along with him to pitch his brand new game idea, Football Billionaire, to the panel.

The premise of the board game was for players to trade goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

Impressed by the 15-year-old and his knowledge beyond his years, Peter Jones was quick to make him a deal and offered up £50,000 in exchange for 20% of the business.

Whilst Shaye was delighted, the deal failed to materialise after they both “mutually agreed” not to sign the contracts and go ahead with the deal broadcast on TV.

However, two years on from the show, Shaye is now in an even better position after bagging the backing from another industry titan.

Now aged 17, the budding entrepreneur is working alongside business magnate and Phones4U founder, John Caudwell, on a brand new variant of his game.

72-year-old billionaire John is the 109th richest person in Britain with a staggering £1.5billion.

As part of the partnership, and like his many other deals with businesses and brands, John’s charitable foundations will receive 10% of profits from sales of Shaye’s game.

Speaking about their partnership and why is was important to work with someone ethical in the business world, Shaye told the Mirror: “The impression of billionaires is that they’re not always positive.

“But I know a lot of them give back. John has always been an inspiration.”

Businessman John also added to the publication:  “It struck a cord with me. Why wouldn’t I help a young guy on his entrepreneurial venture while promoting the charity at the same time? It was no-brainer.”

Shaye is now hoping to hit the big time as part of his partnership with John with the board game now selling quickly online.
