“Looks like it was made on Google slides”: ‘One Punch Man’ Season 3 Visual Is Confirming Our Worst Nightmare

One Punch Man is an excellent series that is both satirical and unique in the Shonen genre. It had a spectacular first season and an extremely disheartening second one, and now, after a long, long wait, the third season finally has a release date.

The fans have been waiting eagerly (with bated breath) for One Punch Man Season 3 for years. They are hoping for their beloved series to return and make a stunning comeback with one of the most iconic and hyped arcs in the series.

The release of the third season is confirmed, and we have a date, but this good news brings along its counterpart.

A hype-killing visual for one of the most anticipated arcs

The uncertainty regarding the release of the third season finally cleared up as J.C. Staff released a preview visual for the season. While it was supposed to be a time of jubilation where fans could say ‘Finally!’, it turned into a massive wave of disappointment.

After J.C. Staff (who worked to produce the second season after Madhouse and failed spectacularly) were chosen to produce the third season as well, the fans had a lot of concerns.

They were worried that after the failure of the second season, not much could be expected from the studio. The release of the new PV indicates that they could have been right.

The PV looked lackluster without any grand scenes and just has a collection of character images, and they do not even look properly compiled. Some of them stick out while the others look like cuts from the previous season. After the widely criticized second season, no one expected J.C. Staff to do such a thing.

At least, if they could not beat the crisp animation and star cast of the first season by Madhouse, they could at least have proven themselves by making an impressive season 3, which redeemed themselves for the mess that was the second season. But looking at the key visual, it feels like they have been slacking off.

Excitement falls with the confirmed Fall release

J.C. Staff admittedly has other anime productions underway as well (Railgun), however, the simplicity (not in a good way) of the visual makes it look like the hopes that the fans have been nurturing for years are all going to shatter, along with the hearts of the loyal fans.

After the disaster the previous season was, if another season cannot perform, then One Punch Man could see an end to its anime adaptation.

Whenever other anime give out a PV, they show impressive visuals. It usually has an iconic part of the arc, or the still of the protagonist and the enemies, or maybe even a normal, fun-looking scene as a still.

But the One Punch Man season 3 visual features no enemies, no heroic actions, no detailed background (in fact it looks like the characters were pasted onto some background).

The PV is nothing but a bunch of characters in positioning that makes no sense. At the same time, the only real upside to this reveal is confirmation that Season 3 will air in Fall 2025, relieving the fans from the wait.

One Punch Man is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
