If you thought Bullseye was down for good, think again! Daredevil: Born Again didn’t just bring back our favorite morally conflicted lawyer in spandex, but also gave us one of the most jaw-dropping, “Did that really just happen?” moments of the entire series. And no, we’re not talking about Matt actually using a smartphone for once, though that was pretty shocking.
We’re talking about Bullseye. The man. The myth. The absolute menace who, despite being hurled off a rooftop like yesterday’s garbage, still managed to come out of it breathing.

It’s the kind of thing that makes you question physics, the laws of gravity, and whether or not Wilson Bethel’s contract includes an “immortality” clause. But before we get into how he survived, let’s rewind a bit and break down the dramatic moment that led to him taking an express elevator to the ground below.
Daredevil had enough and yeeted Bullseye off a roof

Foggy Nelson, everyone’s favorite big-hearted lawyer, is just trying to do his job when suddenly, a sniper’s bullet hits him straight to the back. It’s a gut-wrenching moment that leaves Matt Murdock seething with rage. And if there’s one thing we know about Matt, it’s that he doesn’t handle grief very well.
So what does our favorite blind vigilante do? He does what any emotionally compromised hero would, he tracks down the culprit using his heightened senses, throws on his signature red suit, and gets into a brutal rooftop brawl with Bullseye.
Now, this wasn’t just any fight. It was the kind of one-shot, no-cut, bone-crunching action sequence that makes fans pause the episode just to catch their breath. After a particularly savage exchange of punches, kicks, and what we assume were some very sarcastic quips from Dex, Matt finally snaps. He listens to the faint heartbeat of his best friend fading away and, without a second thought, chucks Bullseye off the edge of the building.
If this were any other show, this would be the end of the story. Bullseye would be a sidewalk pancake, and Matt would brood over it for at least five episodes. But nope. This is Daredevil. And Bullseye is, well… built different.
How did Bullseye not die?

This is where things get absolutely ridiculous. Remember how Bullseye got absolutely wrecked by Fisk in Daredevil Season 3? You know, the moment when Kingpin broke his back on a brick wall. Well, turns out that little incident left him paralyzed, which led to a very sci-fi-esque spinal reconstruction. The dude has a reinforced skeleton. That’s right, he’s basically walking around like a lighter, calmer and clawless wolverine.
So when Matt tossed him off the roof, what should have been the end of his villainous career instead just gave him a particularly painful wake-up call. Sure, he was probably seeing stars and maybe a few ghosts of all the people he’d killed, but thanks to his metallic spine, his bones didn’t shatter on impact. He still took a nasty hit, probably broke a few ribs, and definitely needed a long nap, but he was alive.
This brings us to the next logical question. Did Matt know about this when he yeeted him off the rooftop? Because if he did, then Daredevil just pulled the superhero equivalent of tossing someone into a swimming pool and saying, “They’ll be fine, they know how to swim.” And if he didn’t, well, let’s just say that’s a whole new conversation about our hero’s anger issues.
Either way, Bullseye isn’t done just yet. And if history has taught us anything, it’s that you can’t keep a good villain down. Or in this case, a completely unhinged assassin with an unbreakable spine.
Daredevil: Born Again can be streamed on Disney+ with new episodes coming out weekly.
