The expansion and growth of the anime industry have been rapid in the past decade. Prominent series like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dragon Ball, etc., have helped make the art form a part of the mainstream media, and it’s only going to get bigger and better from here on. And thus, it is not shocking that the community is gaining global recognition, and now everyone wants a piece of it.
The biggest example of this is the first ever American anime studio that was established by Anfernee Robinson five years ago. The anime studio has produced a bunch of different projects and works in the past few years and has developed quite a name for itself. Now, it is entering the anime world with a new series, but it might not be such a good idea.
Although the first-ever American anime studio is certainly a milestone for the industry and the community in general, fans are not too hyped about it. In fact, there has been some hate directed towards AnimeBae and its creator for using the word anime so lightly and easily.
The first American anime studio is launching a new series
The first ever American anime studio was founded by Anfernee Robinson, who was a professional gamer in the past. According to Forbes was the second biggest Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 player in the world and then went on to create AnimeBae, which became a huge hit because of its first published manga series, Akai, featuring characters of color.
With Akai, Robinson became the first American to create a best-selling manga title that was the most-read manga for four months straight. He currently has six best-selling titles on Amazon and then went on to establish the AnimeBae store. These stores sell his own merchandise featuring his stories and mangas.
Now, Robinson has decided to take AnimeBae to the next level by expanding it into an anime production studio. This is a big step considering it will be the first ever American anime studio, and thus, it will carry huge expectations.

Fans are not too hyped about AnimeBae studios
The establishment of AnimeBae Studios is the initial step in the process of the anime business creating its presence in the United States, and this accomplishment is nothing short of admirable. However, that’s not what hardcore anime fans and enthusiasts believe at all.
Since the beginning, anime has been the term used only for Japanese animation, and it holds some gravitas to it. This is why using it so lightly is not at all appreciated by anime fans.
Thus, when the news about AnimeBae expanding into an anime studio spread across the internet, fans expressed their concerns about it.

Although fans’ concern about AnimeBae using the term anime is certainly understandable, they need to understand that it is a small step towards the next level of the global expansion of the anime industry. These small steps will help the community grow and reach its full potential.
