Strictly and reality TV hunk plans shock music career as he launches debut solo tour

After winning over the hearts of the nation on Strictly and Celebrity Big Brother, ambitious Nikita Kuzmin is launching his own solo tour – and plotting a future in music.

The dancer, who came second on the BBC dance show in 2023 when partnered with Bad Education actor Layton Williams, has revealed he has secretly been having singing lessons to make him a triple-threat as a performer.

In an exclusive chat, Nikita, who was runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother last year, said: “There are things which I’m saving for next year and singing is one of them.

“I’ve been taking singing lessons for a couple of years.

“I would love to do a musical. I wouldn’t mind doing music. I’m not against anything that is new and exciting. Potentially going into films. But I think a musical is my next step.”

He will begin his two-and-a-half-month solo tour Midnight Dancer at Bromley Churchill Theatre on Saturday.

The show will be a taste of what’s to come, although he isn’t showing off his vocal chops just yet.

Nikita, right, explained: “The show is more of a musical because I’ve seen every Strictly and non-Strictly shows, and one thing I didn’t want to do is just build a show with lots of dancing and no context.

“It’s a love story with betrayal, pain and hope – it’s a very dramatic show.

“As scared as I am, I’m loving this scary feeling because I know that on the night, I will deliver the best thing people have ever seen.”

His success away from Strictly doesn’t mean he will turn his back on the BBC show though.

Asked how long he will stay, he replied: “As long as they want me back.

“Initially I thought I might want to do ten years but now I’m thinking I’d like to do even more.”

Keith said: “When you are growing up, there are two institutional places that affect you most powerfully: The church, which belongs to God, and the public library, which belongs to you. The public library is the great equaliser.”

Governor Ned Lamont added: “This award was created to honour those whose creativity, resourcefulness, and passion have made a lasting impact on our state and beyond.

“Keith Richards is the epitome of these values – not only as one of the most influential musicians of all time but as a dedicated supporter of the arts, education, and community causes in Connecticut.”
