Julian Sensley continues to find himself in the middle of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s separation.
As The Valley stars continue to wait for their divorce to be finalized after five years of marriage, there is one man who has been a topic of discussion.
During the Tuesday, March 4, episode of Alex Baskin’s “Hot Mic” podcast, Taylor, 45, recalled the wide variety of emotions he felt after he discovered Cartwright, 36, was “hooking up with my friend” Sensley.
“I found out by looking at her phone. I saw that she was texting this guy Julian,” Taylor claimed. “I didn’t know how to handle it. So what do you do? Jump back into drugs.”

In the candid podcast, Taylor admitted to being an addict and struggling with cocaine and alcohol. At the time of the podcast taping, he was 83 days sober.
“For many years I’ve depended on alcohol and drugs as a way to cope and mask many deeper issues,” Taylor said in a statement to Us Weekly on March 4. “This past year has been the hardest year of my life but also the most eye opening and transformative. Coming to terms with my many mental health challenges and being honest about my addiction — both with myself and others has been a crucial part of my healing. It’s been a day-by-day process, but I’m committed to my recovery and working towards a healthier future in order to be a better person and someone my son will be proud of one day.”

Julian Sensley Has (Basketball) Game
Sensley is a former college basketball player who played under Hawaii Athletics. The athlete eventually played for The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League based in Edinburg, Texas. The franchise was affiliated with the Houston Rockets.
Sadly, Sensley never got a chance to play in the NBA after he was left undrafted in the 2006 NBA draft.

In an October 2024 episode of her “Get Them LaLa” podcast, Kent, 34, said she previously dated Sensley before he connected with Cartwright.
“I start bringing [Julian] around the group … I would bring him on double dates, group dates, so that’s how Jax and Brittany know him,” Kent said during the podcast. “It was like … Jax, Janet [Caperna]’s husband, Jason [Caperna], and then Julian would go. They would go out and have, like, guys nights and Julian would FaceTime me and it was just a nice distraction.”
Kent and Sensley’s romance, which began after the athlete slid into her Facebook DM after her split from Randall Emmett in October 2021, came to an end after she conducted a “background check” and called things off.

In November 2024, Cartwright set the record straight about her relationship with Sensley.
“[Jax and I] did not have a no dating in the friend group policy,” Cartwright shared on an episode of Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast. “We never spoke about that because why would we? First off, I didn’t think I was going to hook up with his friend. It wasn’t planned. I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened.”
While she admitted to hooking up with Sensley, she made it clear that she is single. Instead, she said she was “going with the flow” and picturing a future with a man who has kids.

Sensley made his acting debut on the small screen thanks to a guest-starring role on Magnum P.I. in 2021. Since then, the actor has gone on to appear on NCIS: Hawaii and episodes of Rescue: Hi-Surf. Both shows are filmed in his home state of Hawaii.

As a high school senior, the student measured 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds with ESPN calling him the “greatest player ever produced in the Islands.”
“I was always pretty big for my age, so they didn’t always know that I was so young,” Sensley told ESPN around 2000. “I was always the youngest. But I could play, I could always play.”
