A MUM has celebrated beating cancer by giving herself a new lease of life — as a club DJ.
Lifelong music fan Heather Milne, 43, decided to splurge £1,500 on mixing decks after getting the all-clear.

Now her hobby has led to a monthly gig playing 90s floor-fillers.
The mum of three, of Elgin, admitted: “I love doing it. I would never have had the confidence before cancer.
“It’s just the best feeling ever, seeing people dance and react to my music.
“My consultant told me when I went into treatment I wouldn’t come out the same person.
“She was right because this is the new, improved Heather.”
Body piercer Heather was stunned to learn she had stage three cancer after finding a lump on her breast.
Surgeons removed the tumour but the illness spread to her lymph nodes, leaving her facing more gruelling treatment.
Rather than wait for her hair to fall out during chemotherapy, Heather shaved herself bald and got a huge tattoo on her scalp.
Since getting the all-clear in July 2023 she has launched a body jewellery range, expanded her Needle Little Love business and invested in the DJ equipment.
After honing her skills she began sharing posts online.
Bosses at the town’s Foggies bar invited her to play a music set on Valentine’s Day.
It proved a big hit with revellers and Heather is now keen to secure more bookings.
She said: “Life is good. Everything is the rainbow after the storm of cancer.”
