Both boys appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with the assault.
They made no plea at a private hearing.
The 14-year-old was separately charged with the murder of Mr Teklay in the city’s St George’s Cross on March 5.
The charge states the boy struck Mr Teklay on the body with a knife during the attack.
Sheriff Jonathan Guy remanded the 14-year-old in custody.
The 15-year-old was granted bail.
The 14-year-old will appear at court again within the next seven days.
