Ever since the Elbaph arc has been discussed in One Piece, the one person who is always connected to it is Usopp, the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates. Usopp has been an admirer of the giants’ race, and he has often pointed out the fact that he wanted to visit Elbaph, see how the giants lived, and learn from them how to be a brave warrior of the sea.
This plot has resulted in One Piece fans speculating that Usopp might get a power-up or some kind of upgrade that would make him ready for the next phase in the final saga of the story. However, as of yet, there has been no confirmation by Eiichiro Oda about whether or not he will highlight Usopp’s character in the ongoing arc.
But according to the recent storyline, there have been hints about Usopp getting a redemption in Elbaph as he will have to face one of the most broken Devil Fruit abilities introduced in the One Piece story. This Devil Fruit belongs to one of the members of the God’s Knight who have launched a secret attack on Elbaph.
The most menacing Devil Fruit abilities in One Piece
One Piece chapter 1140 saw the introduction of two new members of the God’s Knights: Saint Rimoshifu Killingham and Saint Shepherd Sommers. Both of them looked incredibly powerful, and Killingham even had a mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, which was already awakened. This proves that they are quite dangerous and might make a major impact later on.
This was also proved by the latest One Piece chapter 1142, which showed that one of the members of the God’s Knight has a mysterious power that allows them to bring someone’s fear to life. This was seen when they used the giant children’s fear and brought them to life to launch an attack on the school in order to kidnap the kids.
This is one of the most devastating and threatening Devil Fruit abilities, as even the strongest characters in One Piece have some kind of fear that could overwhelm them if it becomes a reality. Most likely, this Devil Fruit ability belongs to Shepherd Sommers, as Killingham’s Devil Fruit ability was already hinted at in the previous One Piece chapters.
Usopp’s redemption might come against Sommer’s Devil Fruit powers
Although the Straw Hat Pirates are quite capable and could more or less deal with the members of the God’s Knights in One Piece, they might not be able to hold themselves in front of the menacing power of Shepherd Sommer’s Devil Fruit. This is because even the Straw Hat Pirates have some kind of individual fear that could render them useless in a battle.
But according to u/Particular-Ad5200 on Reddit, this is where Usopp will get a chance to shine. Usopp’s entire character is based around him being fearful of almost every little thing. Thus, pointing out his one fear that could essentially defeat him for Sommers, and it would give Usopp an additional advantage over the God’s Knight member in One Piece.
If this happens, Usopp will finally get a chance to redeem himself after so many arcs, and he might just prove all the speculations about him getting a character arc in Elbaph correct. In the end, it will all depend on Eiichiro Oda and how he uses the dangerous Devil Fruit ability that could cause major destruction.
