A member of the NDC Communications Team, Wonder Madilo, has made a bold declaration ahead of the 2025 budget presentation, stating that he will resign from politics if the budget fails to address the debt burden of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
“We are very much aware of that, and I’m saying that tomorrow the budget will be read. If tomorrow the budget does not make any provision for retiring ECG’s debt, I’ll resign from politics,” he declared during an interview on GHone TV monitored by MyNewsGH.
He emphasized his confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to resolving the country’s financial challenges, stressing that the NDC government is not in power for personal gain but to “reset the country for the good of all.”
“We are not here to reset the country only for our pockets. No, we are here to reset the country for the entire good of this country. And I see my president very committed to this transaction of resetting the country and putting it back on solid footing going forward,” he added.
Reiterating his stance, Madilo challenged critics to hold him to his words.
“If tomorrow you don’t find in the budget anything concerning ECG, any provisions to take care of some of these things, call me—I’ll walk away from politics,” he affirmed.
