“He really is the only good nepo baby”: Jack Quaid Maybe Conquering Hollywood, but It’s Foolish to Ignore 4 Other Nepo Babies in Hollywood

Hollywood is called the land of dreams, but for some, those dreams are served with a silver spoon. The term “nepo baby” has certainly become a buzzword in recent years, and it does spark a debate about privilege. However, actors like Jack Quaid are lauded as some of the few who have truly earned their status.

But he’s not the only one making waves in the industry, as other stars are also proving their mettle. From Stranger Things to Marvel, there are four other actors connected to influential families whose associations may open doors, but it’s their talent that keeps them in the room.

Jack Quaid: The nepo baby who’s earned everyone’s respect

Jack Quaid is the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan and is often hailed as the gold standard when it comes to Hollywood nepo babies. The actor has managed to carve out a career path that’s distinctly his own, and he’s best known for playing Hughie Campbell in The Boys.

Over the years, Quaid has become a fan favorite, as he can play several shades with ease.  From being humorous and vulnerable to doing action-packed scenes, he seems to have it all figured out. Now, he’s set to headline Novocaine, a movie that would further showcase his potential as an action hero with comedic chops.

The Dan Berk and Robert Olsen directorial follows Nathan Caine, played by Quaid, who is a bank executive with a rare condition that doesn’t let him feel pain. So far, early reviews have praised the actor, and he seems to have stood out in a crowded field, once again proving that he’s not just a nepo baby but a bona fide star.

Jack Quaid is certainly stealing the spotlight, but he’s far from the only privileged talent in Hollywood. Maya Hawke, the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, has gained recognition as both an actress and a musician. We’ve loved her as Robin in Stranger Things, and with its final season on the horizon, she’s not showing signs of slowing down.

Her other notable projects are Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Wildcat, with the latter being directed by her father. Kurt Russell’s son, Wyatt Russell, is also on the list, and he has transitioned from a professional hockey player to an up-and-coming star in the industry. The actor is set to reprise his role as John Walker in Thunderbolts* after first appearing in the franchise with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis’ daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, was recently praised to no end for her performance in Nosferatu. Some of her other work is quite underrated, but she’s managed to surf the worlds of both fashion and film and has proven to be more than just a famous surname.

Last but not least is Margaret Qualley, who has earned critical acclaim for her performance in The Leftovers, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Maid. She seems to be a versatile actress like her mother, Andie MacDowell, and had an amazing lineup last year with The Substane and Kinds of Kindness. So, while the term “nepo baby” makes the viewers a little skeptical, these five actors are proving that family connections are just the beginning.

Novocaine is set to be released in theaters on March 14, 2025.
