AN athlete was knocked unconscious after falling in the Women’s 3000m final.
Dutch star Maureen Koster suffered a blow to the head after falling and received urgent medical attention.

The race was allowed to continue but a medical team was able to get to Koster and provided her with assistance.
A blue screen was erected to provide the runner with privacy as she received medical attention.
Koster was looked after for several minutes before being hoisted onto a stretcher, from which she was able to give a signal with her hand indicating she was okay.
Team Netherlands later shared an update on social media revealing Koster was in a stable condition.
A tweet read: “Good news

”
