The ‘hideous’ yellow house up for sale & it’s hiding a horrific secret in the garden that people say ‘should be illegal’

IF you’re looking for a home that’s bound to turn heads, we’ve found just the property for you.

Whilst the bold colour choice is sure to go down a treat with those who love all things bright, the ‘criminal’ garden feature has left numerous house hunters gobsmacked.

Not only this, but if you take a look inside this bright yellow house, there’s something in the bathroom that hasn’t sat well with those eager to move.

The detached home, which is found on Higham Road, Tuddenham, was added to Rightmove on 27th February and is currently on sale for £750,000.

The freehold property, which is up for sale with estate agent Hockeys, boasts five large bedrooms and three spacious bathrooms.

The timber framed potton home, which was built in 1991, even has a triple garage with a one bedroom apartment above it.

Whilst it has a host of charming features including an inglenook fireplace and exposed timbers, there are a few things people have spotted that have left them unsure.

The generous en-suite and walk-in wardrobe is sure to impress many, as well as the large gated driveway.

Additionally, there’s also four reception rooms, numerous outbuildings and countryside views.

The property is up for sale with no onward chain and is nestled in a stunning village with great access via the A14.

But Reddit users were left baffled by the bathroom’s unique fireplace.

It comes after one anonymous house hunter took to social media to discuss the property, leaving many totally stunned.

Posting on Reddit, on the r/SpottedonRightmove thread, the user asked: “Do you like bright yellow and fake grass?”

Not only this, but the poster then penned: “Also considering this was a 1991 self build, what on earth were they thinking putting what I assume is a fake fireplace in the bathroom and taking up a load of shower space?”

Big divide

And Reddit users were left totally divided by the property – whilst some ‘loved’ the layout, others thought the fake grass in the garden was ‘a crime’.

One person said: “It’s awful. The hideously hued render. The acres of fake grass. The pointless space-hogging chimney breast.”

That fireplace in front of the shower…. that’s atrocious

Another added: “That fake grass is a crime.”

A third commented: “I don’t actually hate the yellow but that fake grass should be illegal.”

Whilst someone else chimed in: “The yellow and fake grass don’t bother me. Nothing a few tins of paint and some grass seed can’t fix.

“But that fireplace in front of the shower…. that’s atrocious.”

That’s a lot of house for the price

However, at the same time, someone else beamed: “I actually love the layout and floorplan.”

Another chimed in: “Ok apart from the fake grass, I actually like it. There I said it.”

Whilst one house hunter shared: “That’s a lot of house for the price.”

Moving house hacks

1. Declutter Before You Pack

Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.

2. Create an Inventory

Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.

3. Use Quality Packing Materials

Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.

4. Label Everything

Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.

5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box

Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.

6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup

Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.

7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items

Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.

8. Colour-Code Your Boxes

Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.
