The Savannah College of Education has been absorbed into the public college system.
A statement from the education ministry announcing this feat said the absorption follows a comprehensive review and due diligence.
The school is said to have satisfied all requirement necessary for its transition from a private institution to a public college.
The absorption according to the statement means the Savanah College of Education will now operate under the governance and funding framework of the public tertiary education system.
Commenting on the transition, Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu said “I am thrilled to announce the successful integration of Savanna College of Education into the public college system.
This achievement is a testament to the productive collaboration between President John Dramani Mahama and the Yagbonwura, which has paved the way for this significant advancement.
With this transition, Savanna College of Education will operate fully within the public colleges of education framework, poised to leverage enhanced state resources and support for a brighter future”.
