Fenerbahce boss Mourinho was at the centre of a bitter dispute with city rivals Galatasaray after claiming their bench ‘jumped around like monkeys’ following a derby draw which saw their hosts accuse him of racism.
Mourinho received a two-match ban, and Galatasaray general secretary Yazgan reckons Fenerbahce got their comeuppance after some of their claims to the ref against Rangers.
He said: “We all watched their game against Rangers, and their recent behaviour came back to haunt them.
“Everyone saw [Anderson] Talisca throwing himself to the ground in a funny way during the Rangers match to try and win a penalty.
“Jose Mourinho was jumping around like crazy too.
“For all their complaints, Fenerbahce are the only team in Turkey not to have had a player sent off this season.
“We have analysed their games, they have had ten penalty decisions that should have been awarded against them not given.
“Fenerbahce should have received 11 red cards but did not receive any.
“A total of 39 yellow cards were not shown, six of these yellow cards should have been red cards due to two bookings, and five direct red card offences were not given.
“They think we are panicking because they have cut the points gap at the top, but it’s Fenerbahce who should be panicking.
“Mourinho insulted all Turkish people with his comments.”
