NPP MP to petition parliament over actions that undermines President’s security

Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah has hinted at petitioning parliament over actions that he deems detrimental to the security of the President.

The legislator cites the president’s usage of his brother’s private jet for official travels during the beginning of his tenure.

He also cites the decision to allow the brother of the president, Ibrahim Mahama drive him during his visit to victims of tidal waves in the Volta region.

To him, these security breaches should not be allowed to fester as it puts the security of the president at risk.

He emphasized that the earlier this recklessness is dealt with the better to avert any form of calamity from befalling the country.

MP PETITIONSPARLIAMENT OVER ACTIONS THAT COULD UNDERMINE AND COMPROMISE THE SECURITY AND SAFETY OF PRESIDENT MAHAMA.
………………………………………………………

MP for Techiman South and former Minister for Local Government Martin Korsah is to officially petition parliament over some actions which in his view if continues unchecked, could pose a huge risk to the security and safety of the president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

The President on assuming office, has been on record to have undertaken foreign travels by the use of a privately owned aeroplane of his brother Ibrahim Mahama at a time that the state had not authorized same and the safety condition of the aircraft could not be vouched for. This happened when the state owned aircraft serviced and maintained by the state and reserved for the use by the President was available for his use. This has happened a number of times.
Just last Thursday, the president again is seen being driven in a vehicle by his brother Ibrahim Mahama on an official visit to the Volta region to commiserate with victims of a sea erosion community. Where was the president’s officially assigned driver? Has the presidents brother been trained and cleared specifically on all the safety measures to be undertaken to drive the president in a convoy? One would have thought that given the experience of this President, such gaffes would have been avoided.
The earlier we act, the better before a calamity befalls this country out of these recklessness and its important parliaments attention is drawn on this worrying development to avert a national disaster. There are other people who have also questioned the motivation of the president’s brother to “bear all such costs” in on the president incidental to his duties and also at what cost that would be to the Ghanaian taxpayers but more importantly to me is security and safety than cost.
