Calling Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End the best anime of all time might be a bit of a stretch. It’s not like it’s broken new ground or anything YET! In fact, if someone says it’s overrated, that’s totally understandable. Even the creators themselves didn’t think they were making a game-changer, but what they DID give us is a solid show that perfected everything that already exists.

So is it revolutionary? Not quite. Still, it turns out fans are eagerly waiting to see what happens next in the series. Now those who haven’t watched Frieren yet may wonder, what could still be the magic behind its global success? It’s a show that everyone is talking about.
Frieren doesn’t do anything new, it just polishes everything that’s already there

Frieren doesn’t exactly do anything exceptional, it’s more like it takes everything we’ve seen before and gives it a nice polish. But you know what? That’s totally fine. After watching Frieren, many people might have come to understand that, it’s not always about doing something crazy, sometimes you just need to let it play out smoothly.

Frieren indeed deals with familiar themes from many other anime/series, but it presents them in a unique way, where their worth is only understood if watched. It’s not like you will be watching a masterpiece, it’s like you will witness your own life biography. And if you’re a fan of fantasy worlds and character-driven stories, then you’ll absolutely enjoy it.
Also, another thing that really stands out about Frieren is how natural everything feels in it. Even though it’s set in a fantasy world, the characters and their dialogues feel super down-to-earth and relatable. And because of its simplicity, themes like ‘the curse of immortality’ and ‘the importance of human relationships’ really get to shine here.
Studio Madhouse again showed why they are goated!

Madhouse is one of those anime studios that consistently produces shows that might not be the most hyped, but they definitely leave a lasting impression on everyone who decides to watch them. Their titles, like Paranoia Agent, Trigun, Summer Wars, and Hunter x Hunter, always seem to spark some really deep philosophical outlooks on the human psyche. And Frieren takes it to another level!
With Frieren, Madhouse once again proved why they’re one of the best in the game. They totally nailed the vibe of the source material and even added some extra flair to claim it as their own.
Frieren might not be perfect, but it has certainly set a new standard for the industry going forward. It’s one of those shows that’s going to be looked back on as a benchmark for quality storytelling and animation.
We’ve seen plenty of animation masterpieces over the last few years, and Frieren is definitely one of them. Shows like these always raise the bar for the entire medium, and Frieren’s definitely going to be one such show that will inspire a new wave of creators to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
