Erin and Ben Napier have so much to be grateful for ahead of the premiere of season 3 of Home Town Takeover! Viewers will see the HGTV stars makeover the town of Sebring, Florida, for the new season and were ecstatic that they got to bring their kids along with them while filming.
“I hope our girls see that the reason we get up and go to work every day, and the reason it matters so much, is that these small towns in America are the flavor of America,” Erin said during an interview with Yahoo Entertainment published on Friday, March 7. “Whether it’s Laurel [Mississippi, where the Napiers live] or Fort Morgan, all of them have something very special to offer in the American experience.”
Erin, 39, and Ben, 41, welcomed daughter Helen, 7, in January 2018 and daughter Mae, 3, in May 2021. They currently live in a craftsman cottage in Laurel, Mississippi, and frequently spend time at their vacation home in the countryside. Their adventures with their kids at both of their homes have sweetly been documented on their Instagram accounts.
“I hope [our daughters] don’t feel like they can only live their dream in a big city, because that’s just not the case,” the mom of two continued. “You can have the dream wherever you are, especially in such a connected age when you have access to the internet. You can live in any small town in America and live the life you want. And that’s what I’m excited about, that we can tell that story.”
Home Town Takeover season 3 will see the couple tackle some impactful renovations in the waterfront area, which has a “history of hurricane damage and an excess of empty storefronts in the once bustling downtown shopping district have proven to be challenging obstacles, and, despite being home to one of the nation’s oldest raceways, spectators leave without patronizing any local businesses,” per a press release.
“To combat these headwinds, Ben, Erin and their team will renovate the homes of key local leaders to help spark a wave of positive change and encourage community gatherings in public spaces by adding colorful murals and a cozy gazebo in Sebring’s main park,” the press release continued. “They also will revamp several charming local businesses including a Cuban cafe and a theater in hopes of driving downtown visitors.”
Ben echoed what his wife said about their kids, adding that “everybody who has children wants their children to see and understand what it is they do.”
The woodworker said that getting to take the girls with them to Florida was a great experience so that they could see the revitalization process from the ground up.
“Getting to take them … they come to work with us every now and then, but they don’t see the big impact of it,” Ben explained. “Laurel has been great since as long as they can remember. They don’t remember the days when every building, every business was shuttered.”
Home Town Takeover season 3 premieres on Sunday, March 9, at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV. New episodes will stream on Max beginning on March 10.
