There is huge traffic on the Accra Section of the Tema Motorway.
This results from a truck transporting scraps that caught very close to the Accra Mall.
The Ghana Fire Service is working around the clock to douse the fire and has urged users of the road to find alternative routes.
“Anyone using the Tema Motorway should find an alternative route to get to their destination. Preferably use the Spintex road and then get onto the other side of the motorway,” he said.
In a livestream via social media, the Public Relations Officer, ADO Alex King Nartey, indicated that three fire tenders were brought to the scene to fight the fire.
Fire tenders from the University of Ghana, Military Fire Tender, and the National Headquarters Fire Tender were used to fight the fire.
As of the time of this report, the fire had been doused by the firefighters, and efforts were underway to ensure that there was no reignition of the fire.
