Just like every other One Piece fan, I am also eager to see the Straw Hat Pirates unlock new abilities that would get them ready for the next stage and also make their journey to Elbaph valuable. Out of all the Straw Hat Pirates, the one member who needs an upgrade the most is Usopp, the sniper of the crew who hasn’t had a power-up since the time skip.

He still has a lot of development left, and he is lagging behind the other crew members who have become incredibly strong and worthy of the Emperor title in One Piece. However, as much as I want to see Usopp grow, there is one other character who desperately needs a power upgrade. This character is none other than Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece.
Although Zoro recently went through a massive power upgrade in Wano, he still needs to become even stronger as he has come face-to-face with his fears recently. These fears have, in a way, exposed his insecurities and according to me, the only way now for him to get past these insecurities is by gearing up and becoming even more powerful.
Zoro’s worst fears in One Piece have been exposed
I am very much convinced that ever since the battle of Onigashima, Zoro has seen a little bit of change in his attitude and behavior, and he has a valid reason for it. The swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates went toe-to-toe with two Emperors of the One Piece world and fought the only living member of the lunarian tribe (so far), who was on a completely different level.
Not only that, winning against them was so tiring and exhausting for him that he literally saw the Grim Reaper, who scared him to his core. For a second, I felt that he might not be able to live through his experience, but he somehow came out of it all. And then, when the scene shifted to Egghead, he got a glimpse of the powers of the Five Elders, who are a menace on a completely different level.

In spite of the fact that Zoro enjoys maintaining the “nothing phases me” mentality in One Piece, it is possible that he would be overwhelmed by incidents of such a monumental magnitude.

Thus, for the first time, he felt fear and insecurity, which changed him a little bit, and this is just the beginning of the final saga of One Piece.
Zoro needs to power up to face his fears
Fear and anxiety are not at all a good color on my favorite One Piece character, and he desperately needs to get out of it all; otherwise, he will lose his status as the second strongest Straw Hat member. And the most Zoro way to do this is by becoming more powerful and getting ready for anything that can faze him at all in the future.

Although there are other Straw Hat characters who also need a power-up in One Piece, Zoro’s upgrade might prove to be even more beneficial than others. As the swordsman of the crew, he is the first line of defense and thus needs to maintain his abilities against any upcoming danger. Plus, being the right hand of a One Piece Emperor already adds more pressure on his shoulders.
I feel that Zoro’s entire responsibility in One Piece is to guide his captain and help him against the most dangerous and powerful enemies. And he can only do this if he overcomes his own fears and insecurities. His power-up would raise the morale of the entire crew and bring them one step closer to their goals in One Piece.
