It’s none other than Kygo – world famous superstar, producer and DJ, who has announced that he’s had to cancel the Australia leg of his tour.

This is Kygo’s first tour since 2018, and the 26-date run has included stop offs in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Toronto and Boston.

But taking to his Instagram stories, the It Ain’t Me star posted: “Australia, I’m very sorry I couldn’t bring the world tour to you guys.

“Hope to make it up to you soon,” followed by a heart and prayer emoji.

Kygo’s last gig was on March 1 in Funabashi, Japan, and he was due to perform in Sydney and Melbourne over the weekend.

The Sydney gig was on March 8th, and Melbourne on March 7th, meaning the star has had to cancel just hours before he was due to arrive on stage.

One ticket website reads that the Australia leg has been cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances,” and adds: “All ticket holders will receive an automatic refund. For any further refund enquires please contact your point of purchase.”

Kygo is due to perform in the US and Dubai in May, followed by Ottawa in June, Switzerland in July and Ibiza over the summer months too.

Fans were left disappointed on social media, and took to the comments to question why the tour there wouldn’t be going ahead.

One wrote: “very time another post is made about an event elsewhere being so amazing, yet still no explanation for why Australian leg was cancelled is so triggering.”

A second added: “It’s becoming more apparent that you cancelled Australia simply due to not wanting to travel this far. If there was any regret you’d have apologised.

“But it seems you made this decision wilfully and are happy to just ride the joy of your tour while so many fans of yours are left disappointed and out of pocket. I really used to think better of you, dude.”

A third penned: “Still waiting for an explanation about Australia.”

And a fourth echoed: “Still nothing on Aus… Kygo literally just acknowledge it that’s all we want.”
