SHOPPERS are scrambling to get their hands on a McDonalds cult classic item which has made a surprise “return” to the UK.
The legendary menu favourite has landed in a British supermarket after almost a decade of diners pleading for its return.

For a limited time only, what shoppers believe is the McRib has arrived at Company Shop.
One eagle-eyed customer spotted the Maccies treat in the freezer section and immediately filled up their basket.
The shopper found 10 seasoned pork patties for £2.50 with the label Legendary Rib Patties.
On the McDonalds website, the sought-after sandwich is described as: “Seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy BBQ sauce, topped with slivered onions and tangy pickles, all served on a toasted homestyle bun.”
At McDonalds, the McRib is priced at around £4 but you can create your own version at home for pennies using these five ingredients from Company Shop.
To create a succulent-home made McRib all you need is one of your pork patties, which works out at 25p, and a bun, barbecue sauce, pickles and onions.
You can even customise the bargain burger by changing up the sauce, adding cheese, or even doubling up on patties.
Company Shop sells a huge range of surplus stock at shockingly low prices including products from M&S, Tesco and Waitrose.
It picks up these items for a range of reasons including overproduction, mislabelling, or changes to packaging, but they’re all safe to eat and taste just as good.
The products sold in Company Shop stores are surplus for a variety of reasons, such as overproduction, mislabelling, or changes to packaging.
However, the items are still perfectly safe and fit for use.
However, all the food sent to the UK-wide chain is repackaged and sold unbranded – so you’re not able to tell which of your favourite restaurant or supermarket it was originally destined for.
You might not realise exactly what you’re purchasing as you’ll take it home without the label, but one savvy shopper is confident they saw the iconic McDonalds menu item.
Food blogger @uknewestfoods shared the “return” online by posting a clip of someone frantically filling their basket with the pork patties.
Once the news got out that the little-known retailer was stocking the McRib, McDonalds fans were quick to track them down online.
One excited shopper demanded the location of the pork patties, writing: “Address, please.”
Another begged: “What shop is this please?”
While you can’t be 100 per cent certain it’s a McDonalds patty, the sign above the freezer states: “Cover in BBQ sauce and add me to a sandwich!”
The size of the patty and instructions sounds awfully similar to the McRib, so shoppers have taken it upon themselves to celebrate its return.
This isn’t the only positive McDonald’s news fast-food fans have heard this Spring.
McDonalds will add the Philly Cheese Stack, Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie and a Mars McFlurry to the menu.
It’s the first time diners will be able to get their hands on the seasonal burger since last September.
The stellar sandwich features two beef patties with a cheese sauce, cheese slices, grilled and crispy onions and pickles served in a toasted bun.
How to save at McDonald’s
You could end up being charged more for a McDonald’s meal based solely on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald’s receipts.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.
The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.
You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.
The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details – otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
