Few celebrities are as grounded as Keanu Reeves. He has gained somewhat of a reputation for being the most down-to-earth actor in Hollywood, and he lives up to his name. Any fan can attest to his character, being a refreshing and kind soul in an industry full of vanity.
With how good of an image he has, some might believe that Reeves is putting up an act for the world. However, it would seem that he practices altruism regardless of how many eyes he does or doesn’t have on him.
Keanu Reeves doesn’t pull the celebrity card
After starring in many successful projects, a star’s name can hold a lot of sway in their day-to-day life. They can get out of quite a lot of trouble and get into a lot of elite gatherings by simply pulling the celebrity card. However, it would seem that Keanu Reeves is not interested in doing something like this.
In 2014, Reeves was attending the wrap party of Exposed at the Leonora in Chelsea. Only a mix-up happened when he was trying to enter the party, according to Page Six. By some coincidence, none of the bouncers outside of the club seemed to recognize who Reeves was.
Due to this, he ended up having to wait outside of the establishment for 20 minutes while it was raining. In such a situation, many actors may use many kinds of strings to get entry. Be it pulling their IMDb page or pointing out that they are lead-starring in the movie that was having its wrap party inside the club.
However, Reeves decided to simply stand outside instead of making a scene, apparently waiting for two of his friends to show up.
People were very apologetic when they realized
Chauffeur Ronny Sunshine, who drove for The Beatles, gave an interview with Page Six, where he revealed that he was very shocked when he saw Keanu Reeves waiting outside of the club. Similar to the rest of the bouncers, he thought that the actor was a part of a band at first, only to realize who was being asked to wait.
Keanu looks very ordinary. It was raining, but he just waited for his two friends to come. He didn’t act like he had money. I just thought he was a rock ‘n’ roller.
Ronny Sunshine also added that the actor was just waiting for his friends to show up instead of trying to make a scene, not even flashing any of the many things that could have gained him entry.
The owner of the lounge, Noel Ashman, ended up issuing an apology for the trouble that Reeves went through, stating that he had no idea that the actor was waiting out there and he was not even informed. However, even after Reeves entered the party, the night did not stop being eventful for him.
I didn’t know he was kept waiting, and he didn’t say anything to me.
Reeves apparently found a credit card on the floor and ended up stopping the music to return it to its owner. It is safe to say that celebrities cannot meet the standard that Reeves has set.
