Celtic vs Hibs: Brendan Rodgers eyes revenge over David Gray’s side in Scottish Cup after Easter Road defeat – team news

SCOTTISH CUP action resumes this weekend with eight teams battling for a place at Hampden next month.

Celtic will move one step closer to clinching the Treble with a win at Parkhead, but it won’t be plain sailing for Brendan Rodgers in this quarter-final clash.

That’s because his side face David Gray’s Hibs team who are the Hoops’ biggest challengers for the trophy on current form after Rangers crashed out of the competition in the previous round.

It’s been a whirlwind first season as a full-time manager for the Easter Road legend after a ropey start in the dugout.

It took Hibs five games to register a win in the league and they found themselves in a shock relegation fight with Edinburgh rivals Hearts just a couple months ago.

But Gray has since turned things around in remarkable style and Hibs now sit THIRD in the Premiership after going unbeaten in 15 games across all competitions.

During that run Hibs have beaten Celtic, Hearts and held Rangers to a chaotic 3-3 draw.

Can they pull off another massive result on Sunday?

Well, beating either of the Old Firm on their own patch is always a much tougher task.

However, they will be backed by 7,000 fans of their own at Parkhead which will no doubt give them a massive boost.
