However, her exit this time around looks to be much more permanent, as it is her soap funeral tonight.

Leyla, played by Roxy Shahidi, was revealed to be dead after the horror limo crash that shocked fans a few weeks back.

In heart breaking scenes, Leyla’s son Jacob was working a shift in the hospital when a number of villagers were rushed in after the shocking crash.

Jacob was left panicked when he could not find her in any of the hospital wards.

It was then that Jacob finally discovered his mum’s lifeless body with a colleague informing him that Leyla was dead upon arrival.

And he was forced to say the most heart breaking of goodbyes.

Leyla’s exit comes after a few big few years for talented Roxy.

In 2024, she appeared as a contestant on Dancing On Ice and featured as a cast member in the fly-on-the-wall reality series Drama Queens.

Now, looking to the future, Roxy is excited about doing more podcasts with her former co star Mathew Wolfenden.

Matthew, who up until last year appeared as David Metcalfe on the ITV soap, and Roxy released a podcast called Celebrity Side Hustles last year.

The series sees the pair “delve behind the scenes to chat with celebrity guests about everything including how they got to where they are now.

“Their life off-screen as well as their incredible, surprising and inspiring inner passions” or “side hustles”.

In the final episode of series one last year, Roxy and Matt were joined by their great mate, former co-star and all round good guy, Danny Miller.

Danny talked about how his whirlwind journey into acting began, leading to his multi-award winning Emmerdale role as struggling gay teenage Aaron.

But it’s not the first time the two friends have worked together because in 2022, Mathew and Roxy were co-signed to United Agents as screenwriters.

They collaborated on an episode of the BBC medical drama Holby City and three episodes of the BBC soap opera Doctors.
