Twenty-three years into the WWE, the world has never seen a bigger babyface than John Cena. Out of all his remarkable rivalries, the one with CM Punk gave the WWE a cinematic feud of all time.
John Cena, being the quintessential WWE babyface, was up against CM Punk back in the day. Punk, on the contrary, was the leading anti-establishment figure, carving a rebellion against authority at all times. Randy Orton has been Cody Rhodes’ friend for a long time now. In his latest run with the Stamford-based company, the Legend-Killer has been one of the fan favorites, given his stint as the babyface. With Cena turning heel, the two superstars are exactly where they should be for this historic rivalry to open up.
However, fans have pointed out before that Randy Orton is a bigger and better villain than he is a hero. The cruel gimmicks that Orton has brought to life as a heel have seen him inflict a lot more damage on his counterparts. However, as a babyface, whether he is going to bring the same damage on John Cena or not in case of the rivalry would definitely be a question.
This rivalry can be a game-changer in the ongoing era because of two extraordinary wrestlers coming together with their sensational ability to cut promos. More importantly, John Cena is on his farewell tour, and as mentioned before, he will conclude his run at the end of 2025. This gives him enough time to play out this rivalry with Randy Orton if WWE plots it out. The two can very well eclipse the main event of any premium live event hosted by WWE in the near future.
What went down at the Elimination Chamber 2025 with John Cena?
At the 2025 Elimination Chamber, John Cena entered the ring with Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Damian Priest, and Logan Paul. Eventually, after duking out a ferocious battle with the other five, it was the Leader of Cenation who emerged victorious and stood a chance to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE championship.
John Cena apologised to CM Punk after taking advantage of him getting screwed.

However, after winning the match, Cena stunned the WWE universe by attacking Cody Rhodes on a signal from The Rock. Later, he took to social media to drop a line from the Dark Knight said by Harvey Dent on his heel turn. Following the events of Elimination Chamber and Cena’s heel turn, CM Punk got furious.
Later on WWE Raw, he launched a full-blown verbal attack on The Rock, John Cena, and Seth Rollins, thereby reigniting the chances of a full-blown rivalry between them again. However, with all of that being said, the near future might see CM Punk rekindle his rivalry with John Cena, only to lay the foundation of a couple of explosive feuds along the way.
