Meg cooks pointless recipes in £20k kitchen to delight of her millionaire mates… WHO will relate to that? expert slams

MEGHAN Markle cooking recipes in her £20k kitchen with her millionaire mates is completely out of touch with normal people, a royal expert has said.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, hit screens in her Netflix cooking and lifestyle docuseries With Love, Meghan this morning.

Hugo Vickers weighed in with his opinion in an exclusive chat with The Sun[/caption]

Across eight 33-minute episodes the mum-of-two made jokes about her bacon, shared recipes with pals, learnt from celeb chefs and even became emotional over bees.

But shortly after the release, harsh viewers left scathing criticism.

Now, royal author and biographer Hugo Vickers has weighed in to the debate with his own opinion.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Hugo said that Meghan’s show could appear “out of touch” to many.

Hugo said: “I mean, it really is a rich woman in a very expensive kitchen, which is not her own, and one of the reports said you’d have to spend £8 million to get a house with a kitchen like that in it.

“The various pots and pans and devices that you need are all have all been listed in the media, and all very expensive, you know.

“I see figures like £450 for some things and £60 for some smaller things.

“It’s a sort of it’s a sort of presentation of a kind of a rather false, but, you know, potentially enviable life, I suppose, in Montecito, I mean, it’s all very glamorous, and doesn’t seem to have very much to do with reality.”

The royal autobiographer added that despite being a TV show, the way it is staged takes away from the “realism” of it all.

He added: “A sparklingly clean kitchen people chopping up vegetables, and whisking them into different bowls, and making it all present beautifully, and then serving it to their friends, who no doubt dip in and have a good time. I mean, it’s another world.

“It’s not really what cooking is like with all the mess and whatnot, it is a completely other world. I would say.”

And viewers may be wondering whether she really does live like that, says Hugo.

Hugo continued: “Many of us don’t even have a garden. We don’t have bees. We can’t make honey, we can’t, you know.

“We can’t do any of these things because we don’t have the ingredients to hand, you know. Whether she does or not. I don’t know, but it implies that she does so, you know.

“And does she, in fact, spend her whole time cooking and doing all these things? Or is this just for the benefit of the Netflix viewers.

“This is the other question.”

Unfortunately for Meg, her show was also described by social media users as the “FAKEST stuff ever” and “only for the richest people”.

“All of Meghan Markle’s “recipes” can be found on Pinterest,” claimed someone else.

It comes as…

  • Meghan Markle’s new show, Meghan, With Love, was released on Netflix today
  • The series begins with an emotional Meghan fawning over bees and honey
  • In one episode, the Duchess of Sussex makes bacon and jokes: ‘My bacon brings all the boys to the yard’
  • She also corrects pal Mindy Kaling calling her ‘Markle’ – insisting her surname is ‘Sussex’
  • The Duchess goes onto share a touchy feely moment with Prince Harry, who appears briefly
  • Meghan adds bizarre items to ‘children’s party bags’ from Manuka honey sticks to gardening tools
  • In one bizarre moment, Meghan gets flustered and tells guest Alice Waters ‘I feel like you’re watching me fall in love’ while eating a turnip
  • She also lets loose on a hike, dancing with a pal while out on a dog walk
  • Fans slam show ‘the fakest stuff ever’ as they find identical recipes online

Royal expert Ingrid Seward also echoed Hugo’s observations.

She said: “Well, I think it would have been great if it had been her and Harry in her own home, with the kids running around, and the normal chaos of a morning, or even a lunchtime.

“It was, as I said before, it was far too perfect, contrived and studied. It looked like they they sort of done a hundred takes to get this one absolutely perfect.

“I think the whole thing felt like an advert to me.”

In the show, Meg also mimicks Fred Flintsone by pulling out a fish bone and saying “yabadabadoo” during a cooking session with pals Abigail Spencer and Kelly Zafjen.

In other moments during the show, Meghan at one point jokes that “my bacon brings all the boys to the yard”.

She also says when she cooks the salty meat Harry and the three dogs suddenly appear in the kitchen.

The duchess, while arranging some flowers, later produces a makeshift bin to put any rubbish in and says she is such a clean freak her daughter Lilibet has made up a song called “clean as you go” which the royal then does a brief rendition of.

In one bizarre moment, Meg gets flustered and tells her guest Alice Waters “I feel like you’re watching me fall in love” as she eats a turnip.

She also reveals the music she listens to most includes yacht rock and French dinner party tunes.

Friend Mindy Kaling asks image-conscious Meg about her “look” but the duchess has no idea what she means before saying in a funny accent: “Oh my, look, she likes my look!”

In the same exchange, she then corrects Mindy who referred to her as “Meghan Markle“, saying she’s a “Sussex” now, adding: “This is our family name.”

During one episode she also reveals how she grew up on fast food and TV dinners, admitting she ate “a lot of Taco Bell, Jack in the Box”.

What do we know about Meghan Markle’s new cooking show, With Love, Meghan?

MEGHAN Markle’s new Netflix documentary trailer shows her cooking with Hollywood pals.

The Duchess of Sussex gave fans an insight into her show, With Love, Meghan, which airs soon.

There will be eight 33 minute episodes featuring a host of Meg’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet “elevated”, food.

A montage of various clips in the nearly two-minute video showed Meghan walking through vegetable patches and fields.

She was also filmed browsing florists, hand-selecting beautiful flowers for table arrangements, showing off her creative side.

The Duchess even tried her hand at beekeeping, fully suited up, as she collected honey.

In the exciting new trailer, Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.

“Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.

“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks. I see what colour I gravitate to, and everything goes from there. And how you incorporate these practices every day.

“This is about connecting with friends… I love that we’re doing this together for the first time. Making new friends… and just learning.

“We’re not in the pursuit of perfection. We’re in the pursuit of joy. I have to get it totally wrong, to get it totally right.”

The trailer showcased many “candid” moments, from Meghan accidentally squeezing some lemon juice in her eye, to knocking freshly baked goodies off a plate.

Prince Harry featured at the end of the video, embracing his wife in a warm hug.
