Kristin Cavallari stood up for herself against an online troll who criticized the way she did her makeup.

In a since-deleted post made via her Instagram Story on Sunday, March 2, Cavallari, 38, shared a screenshot of a user’s comment they wrote in response to her beauty tutorial video.

“Starting with the eyes first seems so wrong to me,” the user wrote. “Eyes are last in my order which seems to be the only correct order IMO to do makeup.”

Cavallari clapped back at the user, replying, “Oh, well French kiss, if YOU do it that way then it must be right! My apologies!”

The Hills alum noted that people who comment hateful messages are why she “hates social media.”

She added, “Here’s an idea: maybe how you do something is great for you but not necessarily me … and guess what, THAT’S OK.”

On Saturday, March 1, Cavallari shared her makeup tutorial with her Instagram followers. In the clip, the reality star applies eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara before using her company Uncommon James’ bronzing drops. Cavallari finishes up her routine with concealer, bronzer, an eyebrow pencil and lip liner.

“Last night’s makeup ✨,” Cavallari shared in her Saturday post. “Who else is as obsessed with the @uncommonjames bronzing drops as me?! 🤍.”

Cavallari’s fans jumped to her defense in the comment section, agreeing that it’s normal that she does her eyes first.

Celebs Fight Back on Social Media

“Idk what the other chick was talking about, I always do my eyes first, why the hell would I want to mess up my base make up doing my eyes? Makes sense to me,” one user wrote while another shared, “Girl, starting with the eyes makes the most sense. What is wrong with people? Also…why the hell do they care?!?!”

This isn’t the first time Cavallari has defended herself against online trolls. In January 2021, the Very Cavallari star commented on people who “love to criticize” her parenting during an appearance on Good Morning America. (Cavallari shares kids Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 8, with ex-husband Jay Cutler.)

“It’s the one area of my life that I’m so confident in,” she explained at the time. “I know what a good mom I am. I know that I’m doing the best for me and my family.”

Cavallari noted that she doesn’t read comments on Instagram and therefore doesn’t know about negative comments unless her best friend, Justin Anderson, keeps her in the loop.

“It’s really just noise, to be honest,” she added. “I don’t let any of that stuff really affect me.”
