Jacqui Hurley shares sentimental DIY project that ‘took two years’ & transformed kitchen as RTE pal brands it ‘so cool’

JACQUI Hurley has transformed her plain white kitchen wall into a colourful world map with sentimental value for her family.

The versatile RTE Sport presenter shared the before and after of how she, husband Shane and their kids worked on putting a large map with pins denoting locations they’ve been to.

The 41-year-old will be leading RTE’s coverage of Ireland against France at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday

Recapping how the whole thing unfolded, she posted on Instagram: “Took me about two years, but finally managed to find a world map for our kitchen wall!!”

Athletics legend and current RTE pundit Derval O’Rourke was among those to hail the idea as a creative way to mark their previous family holidays.

She commented: “This is so cool. Mine would love this.”

In a similar fashion, Cara added: “It looks AMAZING Jacqui! Worth waiting for.”

Lastly, boxing analyst turned Sinn Féin councillor Eric Donovan praised: “Ahh, deadly, I love it!!”

Thankfully, the Cork woman won’t have to hit the road for work purposes this weekend as Ireland are back at the Aviva Stadium having been in Cardiff for their last Six Nations outing.

Saturday afternoon’s clash with France promises to be one that the whole rugby world tunes in for too as it’ll be the fourth year in a row that this fixture serves as a virtual shootout for the title.

Simon Easterby’s men should be boosted by the return from injury of captain Caelan Doris.

The number eight suffered a knee injury against Scotland on February 9 but is said to be making ‘positive strides’ in his recovery efforts.

However, Tadhg Furlong seems the longest of long shots to feature since he’s been plagued by a persistent calf problem since November.

An IRFU squad update on Monday stated: “Max Deegan, Darragh Murray, Tommy O’Brien and Tom O’Toole have all been added to the squad after featuring for Ireland ‘A’ last weekend.

“Ireland captain Caelan Doris continues to make positive strides and it is hoped that he will be available for selection alongside Jack Conan.

“Tadhg Furlong will continue his rehabilitation and a decision on his availability, as well as that of Rónan Kelleher, will be made later in the week.

“Ciaran Frawley is on course to return following his recent concussion.”
