Fate of Jenna Coleman’s hit drama Wilderness revealed after cliffhanger ending

VIEWERS were left hanging with its nail-biting cliffhanger ending – but I can exclusively reveal that Jenna Coleman won’t be back for more on her Prime Video series, Wilderness.

The six-part thriller series, which saw the actress play scorned wife Liv, set on the destruction of her cheating husband Will, was met with mixed reviews from fans on its debut in September 2023.

The story followed the couple, who looked to be living the perfect lives, on a road trip across the American wilderness that saw Liv uncover footage of Will’s affair.

After coming face to face with the other woman, Jenna’s Liv took revenge against her and on-screen husband, Oliver Jackson-Cohen in a series of events that culminated in a cliffhanger.

But just because viewers didn’t get the conclusion they wanted it doesn’t mean that Prime Video is tempted to bring it back for a second series.

A source told me: “The ending of series one left everyone gagging for more – and fans were keen to see a resolution to the twisting story with a series two announcement.

“But there’s no chance of Wilderness making its revival, and plans for a second season haven’t even been considered by bosses behind the scenes.

“There was plenty of opportunity to pick back up where things left off and bring Jenna back for more, but the action concluded with the events that are featured in the book the show is based on.

“Fans will no doubt be furious with the decision to leave them hanging.”

It comes after I revealed that Jenna’s other hit drama, The Jetty, was in talks for a second series.

The four-parter was set in Lancashire and pivoted around the central character of DC Ember Manning, played by former Doctor Who and Victoria actress Jenna.

Insiders told me how the twisty series, which debuted on BBC One last July and drew in an impressive 8million viewers for its first episode, was in the early stages of a return.

But there was no rush to push the second instalment into production, with Jenna welcoming her first child last October with boyfriend, film director Jamie Childs.
