Road users may have noticed that the traffic lights at Okponglo have not been working for some time now.
It takes effort by police officers to direct the flow of traffic. However, some crashes have been recorded in the absence of police officers.
Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wugon constituency, John Dumelo has made efforts to ensure that the traffic lights are working.
According to him, the part which needs to be fixed will arrive next week in order for the technicians to fix the traffic light.
He urged users of the road to drive with caution and also ensure that they do not knockdown any individual.
“A truck slammed into the control board of the Okponglo traffic lights some weeks ago causing the lights to go off. I have since engaged the Urban Roads on several occasions as well as a briefing from the traffic light maintenance contractor. The parts needed to replace the faulty lights have been ordered and will arrive next week. I will be updating my constituents as and when there’s progress on this particular issue.
