Castlevania has given a magnificent retelling of the vampire lore with its own twists added to it. There are many characters who are exceptionally well-fleshed out in Castlevania. Be it characters that appear briefly or the main characters and antagonists who carry the narrative- they all have personality and depth.

But when I look at the core of the story, I see that Alucard is the heart of Castlevania. From Symphony of the Night to Nocturne, the Tragic Prince is one of the most impactful characters, capable, confident, charming, and nonchalant.
Alucard has captivated fans for decades, and yet his full story remains untold. There are many parts of his life missing, like where was he when his mother was burned at the stake as a witch? The anime covers only certain parts of his life, and the hints dropped tell me that there is much more to the dhampir.
Why an Alucard spin-off is long overdue
Alucard stole the show in Castlevania, and the moment he appeared in Nocturne, the fandom erupted in a massive uproar. I was star-struck as well. This is not just because he’s a fan favorite but because his presence adds an irreplaceable depth to the Castlevania world.

Alucard is a living legend who survived centuries in the world, gained profound experiences and wisdom, and lost his immaturity. Yet there’s so much left to explore in Alucard’s background as a character- from his past struggles to his future path, everything that the fans would like to know.
“You must have been in love. Over all that time.”
“Countless times.” pic.twitter.com/ZsbtPNAZMD— daily alucard ⚰️ NOCTURNE S2 SPOILERS (@alucarddaily) February 23, 2025
After the reaction that we fans had when we saw that Alucard was a character in Nocturne, it’s high time the writers realize they’re sitting on a goldmine. When there is a massively impactful or interesting character, it is not unnatural for people to wish to see more of them.
When Nocturne disappointed the fans with its first season due to many issues, be it pacing, narrative, or even animation, it was Alucard who saved the day. Let’s be honest- most people, including me, watched the Nocturne Season 2 for Alucard (especially because he looked much cooler in Nocturne).
Alucard sells, and Netflix knows it
Alucard’s existence goes beyond that of a major character to the realm where he is the point that everything revolves around. Be it the past with Dracula and Tepes that started it all or the rise of Belmonts, it all connects to him.

Since he is a character with such prominence, charm, and popularity, by makes a spin-off that focuses on his life as an immortal. I want to see Alucard’s life as an immortal and how it changes him. I want to see all the major developments in his life from the very beginning.
Although a few emotional moments in his life have been shown in the anime, much was skipped. Alucard himself replied that he had been in love countless times, yet I am aware of the major ones such as Maria.
It is a harsh boon, immortality. A character like Alucard would be the perfect protagonist as his change from Castlevania to Nocturne seems to suggest his change from being a mere vulnerable being to an unfeeling, profound, and wise immortal.
Alucard sells, and Netflix knows about his marketability, It is time they cash in while we fans are dying for a spin-off. Alucard deserves to be heard, and I demand a spin-off!
You can stream Castlevania and Castlevania: Nocturne on Netflix.
