JOHN HIGGINS has finally ended his four-year wait for a title.
The four-time Scottish world champion hadn’t won a ranking title since he beat Ronnie O’Sullivan to lift the Players Championship trophy in 2021.

That was his 31st ranking title and his first in three years.
Fast-forward four years and one day, and Higgins has eventually clinched number 32 after winning the World Open today.
It’s the one that alluded him for so long but the wait is now finally over.
And at the age of 49, the Wizard of Wishaw is now the second oldest ranking event winner in snooker history.
He beat Joe O’Connor 10-6 in the final in Yushan this afternoon.
Higgins stormed into a 6-2 lead after the first session yesterday before getting the job done today.
Higgins, currently 13th in the rankings, will take home the £175,000 top prize after denying world No. 39 O’Connor his first ranking title.
The 29-year-old has now finished runner-up in two events, following his run in the 2022 Scottish Open.
