It seems like Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi had bad luck after bad luck with their new Cotswald farmhouse, and now, insiders claim that they’re already looking for another residence. It’s no secret that they’re one of the celebrity couples to buy house after house, constantly building their real estate portfolio, but after their UK move, many believed they’d be one and done with houses. However, insiders claim that may not be the case.
While they have their historic farmhouse, it seems the pair are looking at a modern mansion. One neighbor living told the DailyMail, saying, “Ellen and Portia have had several issues with the place they initially moved into. First there was the flooding, of course, then there was an issue with some locals complaining about some building work carried out at the property. So the upshot seems to have been that they started to have a look around and then this property came up.”
(While their house wasn’t flooded, their surrounding neighborhood was, and there have been musings of them not getting along with their neighbors.)
“They looked at it several times. And they liked it more each time they looked,” another close source alleged to the outlet. “So it does look like it’s happening. They’ve been seen around there several times in recent weeks and have even had interactions with neighbours.”
So it seems that DeGeneres and Rossi may be planning to expand their portfolio in the UK instead of the US, but only time will tell.
For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and Rossi met back in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert. However, they didn’t get together until 2004 considering they were both dating other people at the time. After they split with their respective partners, they started dating.
They got engaged, and later married in Aug 2008, at their former home in Beverly Hills, Calif; and have been together ever since.
And in case you’re like, “When did they move to the UK?,” here’s what you need to know. They left after President Donald Trump was re-elected (and after DeGeneres said goodbye to the spotlight. However, insiders also claimed that they moved due to their marriage, saying to InTouch Weekly that “getting out of Southern California only increases the incredible control Ellen has had over Portia for years, and Ellen clearly had a reason to want to increase that level of control.”
