Dwayne Johnson Emotionally Manipulates to Get What He Wants in WWE Ahead of Elimination Chamber

Dwayne Johnson’s SmackDown promo with Cody Rhodes a few days back was intriguing as hell. Johnson made it clear that he wanted only one thing from Rhodes: his soul. The Rock told him that he needed an answer from Rhodes when they met again at the Elimination Chamber. Johnson has made another move towards his ‘agenda’ during the SmackDown episode on Friday.

The episode saw Rhodes being given many luxuries so that he could make a decision in favor of the Final Boss. At the end of the episode, The Rock himself appeared via satellite and gifted Rhodes a customized F-150 Raptor truck. He then made some comments about Rhodes’ late father, probably to emotionally manipulate Rhodes into taking the offer.

During the Elimination Chamber event on Saturday, Cody Rhodes has a major decision to make. He will meet up with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to provide an answer to the offer that Johnson put forth. It is not just any offer, Rhodes has to sell his soul to the Final Boss.

When Rhodes entered the arena for Friday’s episode of SmackDown, he was welcomed by two personal security guards, a courtesy from The Rock. He was then shown his way to a personal locker room, which by the looks of it appears to be a luxurious gift.

Rhodes further interacted with several wrestlers on his way, who tried to convince him of how great an offer this was. R-Truth told him that it seemed like a good trade and added, “Maybe you should think about it” (via WWE/X). Drew McIntyre and CM Punk also believed that Rhodes should take up the offer, although they weren’t nice about it to Rhodes.

Rhodes was supposed to end the show with a few final words before the Elimination Chamber match. However, before he could do that, The Rock interrupted him with a video message. Appearing on the wall screen, The Rock delivered a special gift to Rhodes. It was a custom-made Raptor truck with the logo of ‘American Nightmare’ placed all over it.

The Rock shared that he would make all of Rhodes’ dreams come true and take his soul. He then went on to emotionally manipulate Rhodes by sharing that he had been speaking to Rhodes’ late father Dusty Rhodes all week. He showed a workout belt that had “CODY’S SOUL” printed on it, along with the date of Dusty’s death, June 11, 2015. He shared:

The Rock knows you love driving on the open roads. You love driving on the dangerous roads, on the beautiful roads, on the ‘dusty roads’. Speaking of Dusty Rhodes, God bless the soul ‘The American Dream’. The Rock has been talking to your daddy all week. And he told me you’ve been talking to him too. Which tells the Final Boss one thing. That you’re gonna do the right thing.

Cody Rhodes might be confused about the offer right now. He has yet to give a solid response and fans look forward to the Elimination Chamber to see if Dwayne Johnson’s expensive gifts can lure Rhodes to his side.

During the SmackDown promo on February 21, The Rock surprised everyone when he declared that he had no more bad blood with Cody Rhodes. They went against each other during WrestleMania 40 last year and Rhodes got the last laugh out of it. Instead of going after him with insults, The Rock shared that Rhodes was a “great champion” and that he wanted him to be The Rock’s champion.

He then went on to emphasize how big his offer was, boasting about everything from his position as a director on the TKO Board to Moana 2‘s billion-dollar box office collection. He made his demand loud and clear to Rhodes, “I want your soul.”

Thanks to Dwayne Johnson’s interesting promo, the show went on to have some amazing viewership. According to Programming Insider, the SmackDown episode on February 21 drew 1.736 million viewers on USA Network.
