Casey had taken an interest in the personal trainer, 33, with the pair following each other on the popular app.

He told Cosmopolitan UK: “We followed each other on Instagram before, it was about two years before we went on the show maybe, but Gabby was in a relationship so we’d never really spoken.

“I may have slid in her DMs once or twice, but did it go anywhere? Absolutely not.”

Gabby retorted: “Yeah because you has s**t chat.

The Scouse lass revealed that Casey’s attempt at flirting had failed after she asked what he was doing that weekend and he responded with an invitation for a takeaway.

She said: “Basically, he messaged me saying ‘what are you doing this weekend?’ and ‘I was like I’m not sure what’s on offer?

“He said, ‘do you want to come round for a Deliveroo?”

The blonde bombshell was left so unimpressed she didn’t even reply.

Gabby and Casey later admitted they were glad they hadn’t met back then and instead waited until their paths crossed in South Africa.

“I think everything happens for a reason, and I’m glad that we met properly for the first time in the villa,” Casey said.

The couple won Love Island: All Stars just weeks ago bagging the 50k cash prize.

The pair were the underdogs in a nail-biting finale, going head-to-head with the bookies’ favourites Grace Jackson and Luca Bish.

They also beat fellow finalists Curtis Pritchard and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu who came in third place and Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame who were revealed in fourth place.

Gabby and Casey have gone from strength to strength since coming out of the villa.

Following their victory, the couple appeared on The Morning After podcast to speak to host and series five star Amy Hart

Revealing their plans for the winnings, Casey said: “We’ve got to go away.

“Somewhere nice. I think we’ll go to the Maldives.”

Happy with her man’s answer, Gabby nodded and added: “Sexy.”
