RTE’s Brendan Courtney has revealed how he was the victim of an attack in which he was “punched to the ground” and “kicked in the head.”
The TV presenter spoke out online revealing the terrifying street attack after he was set upon by “three lads.”

Courtney said he was attacked near his home in Dublin last night.
Recounting the scary ordeal he said: “Last night at 9pm on my way home with some food crossing the traffic lights just outside my apartment on the quays.
“Three lads pulled up in a car and jumped out of a car and jumped on me and attacked me and punched me to the ground.
“Cut my f***ing ear. I’m lucky actually but I’m all sore because they kicked me in the head a couple of times.
“An amazing American couple walking by started screaming and the manager from the place on the corner came out and the police were there in seconds and they jumped in the car and drove off.”
Later, he shared a clip while sitting in a hospital bed in A&E.
He said: “I’ve had to come to A&E. I’m sure I’m fine just I reckon I have a mild concussion. My head is thumping.
“Anyway I’m fine but thank you everybody for the messages.
“It’s not good enough. It’s not good enough to be set upon on the street where you live and end up on a Friday in f***ing A&E with a concussion.
“It’s not good enough. We can do better.”
