Gordon Ramsay finally breaks silence on Gino D’Acampo’s misconduct allegations – after their show together was ditched

GORDON Ramsay has broken his silence on Gino D’Acampo’s misconduct allegations and admitted he has “reached out” to him.

The telly chef, 58, revealed he has contacted Gino after multiple allegations of “sexually inappropriate” and “intimidating” behaviour were made against him.

Until now, Gordon had remained tight-lipped about the scandal involving his Gordon, Fred and Gino’s Road Trip co-star.

But speaking on Thursday night at the launch of his new London restaurant Lucky Cat, The Hell’s Kitchen star said he had been in contact with both Gino and Fred Sirieix about it.

Gordon told The Standard: “I have reached out to Gino, checked in to make sure he and the family were doing okay. Fred too.”

Dad-of-six Gordon and First Dates’ Fred had worked alongside Gino on their Road Trip series for ITV since 2018.

The show saw them travelling all over the globe while showing off their firm friendship and love of food in the process.

But in the wake of multiple allegations made against 48-year-old Gino following an investigation into his behaviour, ITV have cut ties with him.

The broadcaster confirmed at the beginning of the month that ITV will no longer work with Gino, or air repeats of his television shows.

At the time, it was reported Gordon was “horrified” about the allegations being made against the Italian chef.

A source told MailOnline: “Gordon was horrified with what had gone on and felt it was time to step in and stop it.

“He has three daughters and a wife, Tana, who he absolutely adores and felt it was disgusting. He wanted to change those ways but then it led to difficulties between them.”

Gino had initially found himself in the headlines after an ITV News investigation uncovered numerous claims of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour by him.

ITV axed re-runs of his shows amid the “unacceptable, distressing and horrendous” allegations of disgusting sexual jibes to female colleagues over 12 years.

It emerged last week that one female telly producer claimed to ITV that Gino drew an explicit picture of her during live filming.

It has also been alleged that Gino kissed a footballer’s wife in front of her husband, before telling charity gala guests he did it “because I can”. He denies all the allegations.

This week, the Italian chef was dealt a fresh blow when his cookware range in Asda was slashed in price.

Gino D’Acampo’s statement in full

“I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago.

“I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone.

“This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.

“Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.

“I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of.

“I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.”

Shoppers filmed a clip of his products slapped with yellow stickers in one branch of the supermarket.

One box of four wine glasses had been reduced from £18 to just £4.50.

Sharing the footage on TikTok, a user called Em said: “Asda reducing Gino’s products after the allegations is such a slay from them.”

Gino has “firmly denied” all the allegations against him, calling them “deeply upsetting”.

In a lengthy statement, he said: “I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago,” he said in a statement.

“I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone.

“This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.”
