Tite Kubo is all flamboyant and we’re here for it. This is true for his personality and ideas that are further reflected in the characters. One such character is Yoruichi Shihoin who is a fan-favorite. Her rank in the popularity poll says it all however there are mysteries about her yet to be solved.
One such mystery is her strength and power as a Shinigami. As a former captain of the 2nd division, she possesses strong reiatsu yet her Zanpakuto isn’t revealed. As fans add their theories, one thing is certain. No bankai isn’t a problem in the Bleach series for this reason.
Yoruichi’s strength is an enigma in Tite Kubo’s series
Tite Kubo is the real G when it comes to writing some of the coolest characters in his series. This also applies to his writing of strong female characters such as Unohana, Rukia, Senjumaru, and the queen Yoruichi. The Flash Goddess lives up to her title as one of the skilled shunpo masters.
Being a former member of Gotei 13, her spiritual pressure is immense which is also evident in her techniques. As a skilled Shunpo master, she invented the flash release which she commonly uses in duels. But that is not all considering her mastery of different forms of combat.
Not just Shunpo but she is well versed with tools as well. She can also shapeshift into a cat as we all witnessed in the series. Interestingly, she might be the only person to be able to do so from the Shihoin clan. And while her Zanpakuto is never discussed, fans have their speculations about it.
Her Zanpakuto spirit has to do with introversion as some Redditors pointed out.

Zanpakuto isn’t a mere weapon but it is a self-discovery. It is tied well to Shingami’s persona and true self. With Byakuya and Ichigo, their zanpakuto symbolize the duality of their persona as well as their powers. The Flash Goddess proved that she is well capable without a Bankai and here’s why.
No Bankai? No Problem
People often forget that Aizen isn’t the only character whose Bankai isn’t shown in Bleach. Time and time again there have been theories regarding Yoruichi’s Bankai and Zanpakuto spirit. None of this has been confirmed by the mangaka in any case which only proves why she doesn’t need one.
Kubo isn’t the one to sideline lore, characters, or any element in his story. The same goes for her character who is shown to be proficient in different forms of combat. Where Bankai is cemented as a supreme form, Yoruichi’s skills prove that she is stronger without one.
Besides, her fluency in kido spells and shunpo proves her diversity as a Shinigami. Someone as well-versed as her in different forms of combat including swordsmanship makes one thing clear. Even if she had a superior Zanpakuto, Kubo made sure that it won’t be a cripple for a storyline.
Truly, it is refreshing to witness her well-written character in its supreme glory. Bankai or no Bankai, Yoruichi is a goated character, nonetheless.
