Thanks to a Bug, Fortnite Now Has Multiple Pay-to-Lose Skins, And It’s Black Ops 6 All Over Again

One bug in Fortnite is acting as the biggest nightmare for players who love to use snipers in the game. Due to this latest bug, comparisons are being drawn between Black Ops 6’s pay-to-lose skins. The latter has been accused countless times of releasing cosmetics that put players in disadvantageous situations.

Pay-to-lose is the stark opposite of pay-to-win cosmetics, something Call of Duty games have also been criticized for. These cosmetics put certain players at an advantage over the ones who do not own them. Fortnite has largely stayed away from these accusations; however, due to the recent bug that resurfaced, things might change.

Imagine buying your favorite skin in Fortnite, the one that you had been waiting for for a very long time, like the Indiana Jones sniper skin, and once you hop on into the game with the new skin, you realize that it will not let you aim properly.

This might make players feel that the money spent on the game is further causing them more hindrance. There have been a lot of such instances in Fortnite where players have reported scoping bugs after equipping various skins in the game, similar to how some of Black Ops 6’s cosmetics were criticized for putting players at a disadvantage.

Many players have reported the same issue with not just the Indiana Jones skin but with various other skins as well. Cosmetics should only exist to make the players feel special and help build their own unique identity and nothing more.

When cosmetics start causing problems in-game, then it calls for some action. Epic Games needs to respond to these grievances and come up with a fix as soon as possible. Despite the criticism, Fortnite is still a great game.

Cosmetics should not hinder the gameplay in any way

The moment cosmetics start hindering the gameplay, it calls for some action. Black Ops 6 has suffered from the same problem for a while now where some of the skins make players appear more vividly on the battlefield than others.

Other cosmetics have in criticized for being too distracting, like the unicorn skin. Fans have often spoken against it since these kinds of skins also go against the general theme of the game and distract players.

Similarly, Fortnite is also being accused of similar things. Epic Games needs to come up with this big fix in future updates since it would pose a lot of problems in the future if the same problems keep repeating in the future. The players might lose interest in buying skins altogether. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
