President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that critical imaging equipment at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital) has been out of service for an extended period, with some machines failing as far back as May 2022.
Delivering his State of the Nation Address on February 27, 2025, Mahama disclosed that essential diagnostic tools, including the MRI, CT scan, digital X-ray, and ultrasound machines, are all non-functional, affecting healthcare delivery at the facility.
His revelation raises concerns about the state of Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure and the urgent need for maintenance and investment in medical equipment.
